Catherine Priebe concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, business succession, estate and trust administration and fiduciary law. She advises individuals, couples and families, including business owners, professionals, and executives, who are looking for a collaborative, creative and comprehensive approach to the planning process.
Cathy has extensive experience in the preparation and implementation of wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance and gift trusts, charitable trusts, family limited partnerships and similar entities, pre and post-nuptial marital property agreements, powers of attorney and other estate planning techniques. These techniques are often used in combination to help clients achieve their goals of reducing administrative costs, including probate avoidance, reducing taxes, structuring a positive inheritance for beneficiaries, incapacity planning, creditor protection and other benefits. When applied to planning for closely held business owners, Cathy assists clients in gift, estate and income tax planning, liability protection, ownership and management succession, and other matters.
Cathy also has experience representing both corporate and individual trustees, personal representatives and other fiduciaries, including advising fiduciaries regarding their responsibilities to beneficiaries, reporting obligations under estate planning documents and the Wisconsin Trust Code, document construction and dispute resolution among fiduciaries and beneficiaries.
